Charlotte Dujardin is competing at the CHIO Aachen
It was 2014. England’s dressage superstar, Charlotte Dujardin, competed in Aachen for the last time five years ago. She has now confirmed her participation at the CHIO Aachen 2019.
The last time she rode in Aachen, Dujardin was able to win the Grand Prix of Aachen, Valegro was her mount at the time. She will now be saddling “Erlentanz” for the competitions in the Deutsche Bank Stadium, the horse whom she recently succeeded in notching up a score of 84 percent with in Bolesworth, England. For Dujardin and the 12-year-old Trakehner-bred gelding, it is going to be the long-awaited first performance outside of Great Britain. The CHIO Aachen Show Director, Frank Kemperman, is delighted about the famous competitor: “In the past we have seen what a fantastic athlete she is,” Kemperman stated. Charlotte Dujardin is a three-time Olympic gold medallist, double World Champion and five-time European champion. She additionally holds three world records. And now she will finally be performing outside her own home country again.
There is going to be world-class dressage at the CHIO from Wednesday onwards already (July 17th), because big names have also registered to compete in the 4-star tour. “They are actually all 5-star candidates,” commented Kemperman. Among others, Soenke Rothenberger with Cosmo, Isabell Werth with Emilio, Cathrine Dufour with Cassidy and Ingrid Klimke with Franziskus will be taking part. The “Small Tour” commences on Wednesday (4.30 p.m.) with the HAVENS Pferdefutter Prize and continues on Friday with the Lindt Prize (6.30 p.m.).
