“Info stewards” as contact persons on the training areas
The best horses and riders in the world traditionally meet up at the World Equestrian Festival. In order to make the sport more transparent, “info stewards” are going to be available on the training areas as contact persons for the spectators.
The Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein e.V. (ALRV), organisers of the event, has already been offering this service for several years in collaboration with the German Equestrian Federation (FN) – this year also on the training areas of the show-jumpers. The goal: More transparency. “We would like to provide the best possible information on the sport,” explained Frank Kemperman, ALRV Chairman and Show Director. Equestrian sport training experts will be at the disposal of the spectators as contact partners on both the dressage and jumping warm-up areas. “They will talk with the spectators and where necessary explain what is happening on the warm-up areas,” the General Secretary of the FN, Soenke Lauterbach, commented. The aim behind the info stewards, who will be wearing bibs so they are easily identifiable, is also to relieve the official stewards of the international federation, the FEI.
