An overjoyed Tobias Meyer wins Part II of the Sparkassen-Youngsters-Cups
“It has always been my dream to be able to compete in Aachen once,” commented the German Show Jumping Champion, Tobias Meyer, before riding in for the prize-giving ceremony of the Sparkassen-Youngsters-Cup to head the field.
Tobias Meyer already came second with the eight-year-old Diamant de Semilly daughter, Fassida v.-H, yesterday in the Sparkassen-Youngsters-Cup. Today, in the second of three competitions, the Holstein-bred mare raced to victory in an unbeatable time of 62.50 seconded. Meyer knows why: “No other show is comparable to this one. The horses feel totally at home here. The mare jumped even better today than yesterday. It was simply great fun!”
Second place went to the Italian show-jumper, Lorenzo de Luca, with the eight-year-old Belgian-bred Cardento daughter, Naomi van het Keizershof, who crossed the finish line in 63.24 seconds. Followed by the Swedish rider, Petronella Andersson, in third place with a further Belgian-bred horse: Nithard van de Peerdenhoeve, a Zirocco Blue son. The clock stopped at 64.01 seconds for this pair.
