WDR and ZDF broadcasting live
Equestrian sport live from Aachen on Wednesday evening for the first time
It is best in the stadium of course, but the World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen, will also be covered on TV extensively too. WDR and ZDF are transmitting around 30 hours.
The highlights from 14.9. onwards are the Opening Ceremony on Tuesday evening (8.15 p.m., WDR live), the Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup on Thursday evening (8.15 p.m., WDR live), the SAP Cup (Cross-country, eventing) from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on WDR and on the last Sunday (September 19th) live images from the Rolex Grand Prix and Deutsche Bank Prize (Dressage) on ZDF and WDR from 11 a.m. onwards. There will also be a live broadcast for the first time on Wednesday evening, because the Turkish Airlines – Prize of Europe is celebrating its floodlit premiere at the CHIO Aachen 2021. The live programme will be enhanced by summaries and news reports on the individual show days – such as the famous Farewell to the Nations.
Thanks to cutting-edge camera technology – for instance the spectacular “Spidercam” is implemented – the CHIO Aachen 2021 will also be an exciting experience on the TV or computer screen. 250 TV employees will be responsible on-site for the TV coverage throughout the globe. The national, state-run TV channels will transmit over 30 hours from the World Equestrian Festival. In addition to coverage on the sport, a wide range of reports, news films and articles by Studio Aachen, will grant an exciting glimpse behind the scenes. Coverage will additionally be broadcast internationally in over 140 countries.
Furthermore, all of the competitions will be streamed live online by ClipMyHorse.
