FIRST-CLASS SPORT IN A UNIQUE ATMOSPHERE IN MAY 2026
Aachen – for equestrian sport fans worldwide, this is synonymous with great emotions, thrilling sport and an unmistakable atmosphere. A very special event awaits you next year: The ‘TSCHIO’ 2026 will exceptionally take place in May and will bring top international riders to the Allianz Park. ‘TSCHIO’ – that’s what the people of Aachen affectionately call their CHIO in their down-to-earth dialect. A name that expresses a sense of home, tradition and the unique community surrounding the World Equestrian Festival.
In sporting terms, the ‘TSCHIO’ 2026 will set standards: On 24th May, the traditional Rolex Grand Prix will take centre stage, accompanied by other top-class competitions and exciting competitions for young horses.
The side events also promise magical moments: The concert ‘Horse & Symphony’ on May 23rd combines spectacular horse shows, artistry and the moving live music of the Aachen Symphony Orchestra for the first time ever as a unique, one-off event in the legendary Main Stadium.

- This competition is part of the Medium Tour.
- The course is divided into two phases, each of which is judged on faults and time.
- Penalties of both phases and time in phase two count for the result.
- Height of obstacles: up to 1.45 m.

- S7
- This competition is part of the Youngster-Tour.
- Age of horses: Seven and eight years.
- The course is divided into two phases, each of which is judged on faults and time.
- Penalties of both phases and time in phase two count for the result.
- Height of obstacles: up to 1.35 m (seven years old), up to 1.40 m (eight years old).

- Qualifier for the Rolex Grand Prix.
- Jumping competition, one round against the clock.
- The rider with lowest penalties and the fastest time wins.
- Height of obstacles: up to 1.55 m.

- This competition is part of the Youngster-Tour.
- Age of horses: Seven and eight years.
- The rider with the fastest time and lowest penalties wins.
- Height of obstacles: up to 1.40 m (seven years old), up to 1.45 m (eight years old).

- S2
- This competition is part of the Medium Tour.
- Jumping competition with one round.
- The rider with lowest penalties and the fastest time wins.
- Height of obstacles: up to 1.50 m.

MERKUR CASINO-Cup
- S10
- Combined jumping and driving competition.
- A team of one show jumper and one four-in-hand driver enters the arena together.
- The show jumper of the team starts and jumps a course of obstacles.
- As soon as the show jumper has crossed the finish line, this rider dismounts his horse, runs to the drivers’ waiting area and mounts the carriage.
- The carriage driver drives an obstacle course with cones and marathon-type obstacles then.
- The time is taken from the moment the show jumper crosses the starting line until the driver passes the finishing line.
- The team with the fastest time wins (conversion of penalties into seconds).

- Qualifier for the Rolex Grand Prix.
- Jumping competition with one round and jump-off.
- Every rider with a clear round qualifies for the jump-off.
- The rider with lowest penalties and the fastest time in the jump-off wins.

Concert "Horse & Symphony"
- In 2026, the legendary concert "Horse & Symphony" will take place at the Main Stadium for the first time – with a James Bond theme!
- A unique open-air experience full of excitement, glamour and goosebumps, as the Aachen Symphony Orchestra performs the greatest 007 hits live and breathtaking equestrian show elements cast a spell over the Main Stadium.
- A highlight: Chief Conductor Christopher Ward will take to the podium one last time to deliver an unforgettable finale!

- This competition is part of the Medium Tour.
- The rider with lowest penalties and the fastest time wins.
- Height of obstacles: up to 1.50 m.

Prize of Handwerk, Youngster-Tour Final
- S9
- Final of the Youngster-Tour.
- Qualified are the 25 best riders from qualifying competitions S7 and S8.
- Jumping competition with one round and jump-off.
- All riders with zero penalties in the first round are qualified for the jump-off.
- Age of horses: 7 and 8 years.
- Height of obstacles: up to 1.40 m (seven years old), up to 1.50 m (eight years old).

Rolex Grand Prix
- S6
- The Grand Prix of Aachen
- Jumping competition over two rounds and jump-off
- 40 athletes
- The 18 best riders of the first round are qualified for the second round.
- In case of equality of points after both rounds a jump-off will decide.
- Height of obstacles: up to 1.60 m.
- Length of competition approx. 3 3/4 hours.
- Part of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping

Farewell of Nations
A tradition since 1953: The emotional closing ceremony. Accompanied by the sounds of the German folk song "Muss I denn" and waving with white handkerchieves, participants and spectators bid farewell to each other.

Concert "Horse & Symphony"
It will be an evening for the history books: As a one-off occurrence and for the first time the concert “Horse & Symphony” is taking place in the legendary Main Stadium – an exceptional highlight that will lend the popular event a special stage next year. The setting could hardly be more impressive and the motto for the evening is equally fitting: James Bond – the epitome of suspense, sense and timeless fascination.
