CHIO Aachen 2025: Emotional victory for Yuri Mansur in the Mystic Rose Prize

It is not always the biggest classes that write the most emotional stories. Yuri Mansur (BRA) notched up a very special victory in the Mystic Rose Preis.

A few days ago, the Brazilian Olympic rider, Yuri Mansur, lost the horse that he won the Turkish Airlines-Prize of Europe with in 2023, Miss Blue. The mare died after suffering from colic. A terrible loss for the rider. Today, he competed in the Mystic Rose Prize, the last side competition of the weekend, a 1.45-metre class against the clock. Together with the Holstein-bred grey mare, Clariquada T, Manura sped to the finish line in a time of 68.83 seconds, ahead of Kevin Jochems (NED) with Prada di Costa M (0/68.94) and René Dittmer for Germany with Echo vh Gerendal Z (0/71.50).

The sponsor of the competition was the breeder of Miss Blue, the Haras Rosa Mystica or Mystic Rose Horses. Yuri Mansur was so moved that he had won precisely this competition today, that he was speechless, the tears actually ran down his face. Obviously, a victory in honour of a special horse.

A rider sits on a decorated white horse and holds a bouquet of flowers, while two elegantly dressed people stand next to him. The group is on a jumping arena in front of a large grandstand. In the foreground is a stele with the logo of Mystic Rose Horses and the words “World Equestrian Festival CHIO Aachen”. The horse is wearing a winner's blanket, and further obstacles and another horse can be seen in the background.
