CHIO Aachen 2025: Boyd Exell wins the Prize of Martello Immobilienmanagement GmbH & Co. KG with ease
The dressage was on the agenda for the four-in-hand drivers today. In the Prize of Martello Immobilienmanagement GmbH & Co. KG they demonstrated impressively that harmony between horses and riders is not only possible in the saddle, but also from the coach box.
This was – once again – especially emphasised by the Australian driver, Boyd Exell, whose team Celviro, Checkmate, Hero and Mister Bono van’t Hooge reined back simultaneously in perfect symmetry, extended their pace and let themselves be collected again beautifully. The judges awarded the quartet 31.73 minus points for their performance. That was exactly one minus point less than the US American driver, Chester Weber, had notched up and thus the victory in the Prize of Martello Immobilienmanagement GmbH & Co. KG. Chester Weber ranked second, ahead of the German individual driver, Anna Mareike Meier, on a score of 40.4 minus points.
In the team classification, the Boehringer Ingelheim Nations Cup, the Australian team is currently heading the field on a combined score of 80.97 minus points. Tor van den Berge additionally contributed to the result. Since the team didn’t have a third member, there is no scratch result, so nothing is allowed to go wrong.
Germany lies in second place. The team comprises of Georg von Stein (46.18), Anna Sandmann, who is coached by the winner, Boyd Exell, and who drove a fantastic dressage test, which she received a score of 41.19 minus points for, and Michael Brauchle, who was the scratch result today (54.44 minus points). Germany’s combined score after the dressage is 87.37 minus points.
Lying in wait in third place, is the Belgian team on 96.29 minus points. The serial winners from the Netherlands collected 102.68 minus points today, which means fourth place after the dressage.
