Preis der StädteRegion Aachen
There still hasn’t been a German victory in the jumping stadium in Aachen at the World Equestrian Festival yet. This evening, the Prize of the StädteRegion Aachen in memory of District Administrator Hermann-Josef Pütz, a jumping competition in two phases, was on the agenda at the Soers. The two-time Olympic team gold medallist, McLain Ward (USA) was the decisive winner with HH Carlos Z, after completing the second phase in the fastest time of 27.7 seconds. The second fastest pair were the Irish rider Jonathan Gordon and his Oldenburg-bred gelding Fellini, who crossed the finish line in 29.87 seconds. Last year, the 22-year-old was on the Irish team that claimed bronze at the European Championships of the Young Riders in the age group up to 21. Now they have already won a rosette in the most famous grass arena in the world.
Third place went to the reigning German Champion of the Professional Riders, Felix Haßmann. He had saddled the Westphalian-bred stallion, Horse Gym’s Balzaci, who took 30.21 seconds to complete the second phase of the course.

District Administrator Helmut Etschenberg and Supervisory Board member of the ALRV Wolfgang Mainz congratulating the winner.
