CHIO Aachen CAMPUS: #neuland Congress parallel to the World Equestrian Festival 2021

Parallel zu Germany’s largest annual sporting event, the CHIO Aachen, the Rhein Ruhr City GmbH is organising a new format on sustainability and diversity in sports and cultural events on September 16th. The event with a star-studded cast will be embedded in the #neuland Congress (14.-16.09.2021), which in cooperation with personalities from the world of business, politicians, investors and scientists aims to offer solutions for an efficient and equally ecological and economical, sustainable future.

Together with the CHIO Aachen CAMPUS, which constitutes an international equestrian sports platform and which exemplifies these themes, in the scope of #neuland the people’s expectations for solutions for sustainable sport and cultural events is to be discussed and addressed. “We are looking forward to installing a new event format in Germany, which brings opinion leaders on the topic of sustainable sports and cultural events together around a discussion table for the first time in this form,” said Michael Mronz, CEO of the Rhein Ruhr City GmbH and founder of the initiative of the same name, Rhein Ruhr City, which drew up an ecologically and economically sustainable regional concept for a bid for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

In order to further reinforce the public perception for this important and current topic of the sports and culture industry, decision-makers from national and international sports associations, sports clubs, athletes, service providers, environmental organisations, sponsors, scientists and politicians will participate as panel guests and keynote speakers. “Key future themes that are becoming increasingly more important for sporting and cultural events, both for the spectators as well as for the organisers and sponsors are on the agenda of #neuland,” stated Stefan Knopp, Director of the CHIO Aachen CAMPUS. The congress encompasses the six theme areas Equality in Sport, The Role of Sport in Society/The Significance of Mass Sports as a Basis for Top Competition Sport, Green Arena, Green Events, Sustainable Sponsoring as well as the Monetisation of Sport. Tickets for the event, at which among others the dressage superstar Isabell Werth and Stefanie Peters, President of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein e.V.
