CHIO Aachen and Turkish Airlines extend their partnership
The World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen and Turkish Airlines have extended their partnership for a further three years until 2020.
Flying to more countries than any other, Turkish Airlines is one of four Top Level Sponsors of Germany’s largest equestrian event, which takes place this year between 13th and 22nd of July. Turkish Airlines will lend its name to one of the race days and awards. On Wednesday, 18 July 2018, the “Turkish Airlines-Prize of Europe” will be awarded with one Million Miles&Smiles points to the Jumping champion and will be broadcast live from 14:10-17:00h on German public television WDR.

Ilker Ayci, Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee Turkish Airlines. In addition to the CHIO Aachen, Turkish Airlines also supports further international major sporting events and associations such as golfing tournament Turkish Airlines Open as part of the European Tour Final Series, Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and the European Professional Club Rugby Championship.
“The CHIO Aachen is deeply rooted in the region with a strong international alignment. The extension of the contract with Turkish Airlines underlines this international strength of the CHIO Aachen brand”, stated Michael Mronz, General Manager of the Aachener Reitturnier GmbH.
More than 350,000 spectators from all over the world visit the traditional showgrounds at Aachen’s Soers over the ten days of the show. 800 journalists cover the competitions, while national TV channels provide an estimated 30 hours of coverage, the majority of which is broadcast live and TV images are transmitted to 140 countries. The CHIO Aachen is a major sporting event that is also shared digitally across social media.
