CHIO Aachen 2025: Nominees selected for the “Silver Camera”
What distinguishes an outstanding photo? Is it the motif captured, the technical perfection, the unique moment or perhaps the special atmosphere it conveys? In the run-up to the CHIO Aachen, a renowned jury is faced with the exciting task of answering this question. Because year for year as organisers of the World Equestrian Festival, the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein e.V. (ALRV) confers the “Silver Camera” on the most impressive international equestrian sport photo of the year during the event.
“Photography has the wonderful ability of capturing emotions and telling stories – often without a single word. A successful photo enables us to experience the fascination of the equestrian sport up-close and captures magical, fleeting moments for eternity,” commented ALRV Board Member, Birgit Rosenberg. She was as equally impressed by the 130 photos submitted as her fellow jury members. This year the latter comprised of last year’s winner, Rebecca Thamm; Julia Tran (Chief Operations Officer Mediahuis Aachen GmbH) and the dressage star, Patrik Kittel. “The quality of the photos is excellent. Deciding between them wasn’t an easy task,” according to Rosenberg. The following nominees were ultimately selected for the “Silver Camera” (in alphabetical order):
