CHIO Aachen 2025: Karli and the Aachen Symphony Orchestra give a foretaste of “Horse & Symphony”
Wherever one looked in Aachen’s Elisengarten, the people were simply mesmerised: When the CHIO Aachen mascot, Karli, turned the centrally located, small urban park into an open-air concert stage together with four musicians from Aachen’s symphony orchestra without further ado, on Saturday, the Öcher (inhabitants of Aachen) and the tourists were taken totally by surprise. Taking on the role of conductor and dancer, Karli created a very special moment together with the musicians. An impressive foretaste of what awaits the spectators during the “Horse & Symphony” concert next weekend. The concert traditionally forms the spectacular prelude of the CHIO Aachen. These two exceptional evenings in the Dressage Stadium live from the unique interplay between the Aachen Symphony Orchestra and a fascinating horse show.
This year the visitors can look forward to a musical journey whisking them off into their most beautiful holiday dreams on June 27th and 28th: Under the motto “Summer in the city” Spanish rhythms and summer melodies await them – of course as always as the exquisite interplay between the symphony orchestra, horses and humans. The performance of the Royal Córdoba Ecuestre Riding School from this year’s partner country, Spain, is a special highlight of the programme this year.
Lisa and Matthes Röckener, whose popular show act is based on liberty work and calmness training, are also on board. Laury Tisseur from France will impress the crowd with his breathtaking stunts performed while standing on a galloping horse. Britta Rasche-Merkt’s show team, which has already rocked the stadium at the Aachen Soers many times, is also represented again – this time in a joint performance with the Ferberberg Ballet School from Aachen. The junior team of the vaulting club, Köln-Dünnwald, as well as the Voltige-Show of the internationally acclaimed, French artists, Jerome Sefer and Kevin Ferreira, also guarantee top acrobatic performances and unforgettable moments.
On June 27th and 28th, the time has come once again – the first tone will ring out at 8:30 p.m. respectively in the Dressage Stadium – conducted by Christopher Ward, the General Music Director of the City of Aachen. Tickets are available online, from the hotline on +49-(0)241-917-1111 and from the ticket tent at the showgrounds.
