Allianz Park in Aachen sets new standards in international equestrian sport
The Allianz Arena in Munich has long since been a landmark of international football. Now, a second sports venue in Germany will bear the name Allianz: Allianz and the CHIO Aachen are opening a new chapter in their long-standing partnership with the new Allianz Park in Aachen, which they are presenting as the centrepiece of a shared vision for the future of equestrian sport in Aachen. The focus of the cooperation is the clear commitment to shared values, social responsibility and sustainable development.
The CHIO Aachen, which is steeped in tradition, is far more than an equestrian show – it is a benchmark in the international sports calendar, a place where history is written year after year and where the world of equestrian sport constantly reinvents itself. “The CHIO Aachen is a true flagship for equestrian sport worldwide and one of the leading sporting events in Europe,” said Stefanie Peters, President of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein e.V. (ALRV). “We stand for the connection between tradition and modernity – and for the vision of constantly rethinking and further developing equestrian sport.”
The CHIO Aachen CAMPUS, an all-year-round centre of excellence that sets innovative trends – from promoting young talent to social responsibility and inclusion – is a central element of this development. Here, knowledge, skills and new perspectives are conveyed and equestrian sports are made accessible to all generations.
Allianz Park: A symbol for a values-oriented future
The Allianz Park makes the values and expertise of the CHIO Aachen CAMPUS highly visible and carries them far beyond the borders of Aachen. The name represents much more than just a place – it represents a vision: Allianz and the CHIO Aachen are jointly creating a space where equal opportunities, sustainability, inclusion, digitalisation and especially the promotion of young talent are practiced and further developed. The integration of para-equestrian sport and the consistent focus on social responsibility reflect the values that both partners stand for.
As of November 2025, all CHIO Aachen CAMPUS events as well as all the dressage, vaulting, driving and, in the future, para-equestrian competitions of the CHIO Aachen, will be held at the Allianz Park. This park encompasses the entire area that accommodates the sports facilities for these disciplines. The Allianz Park will thus become the central meeting point for the full spectrum of equestrian sports in Aachen and beyond.
The CHIO Aachen CAMPUS embodies this philosophy. With over 90 event days a year, it opens up equestrian sport to everyone – regardless of their background, age or experience. The programme includes promoting young talent, further education and innovative projects, as well as inclusion and participation. “For us, the next stage of development is not just a question of infrastructure, but primarily of attitude and perspective. We want to be a role model – for the sport, for society and for the next generation,” Peters continued.
Together for the future of international equestrian sport
As one of the world’s largest sponsors of sports, Allianz is contributing to the partnership with its global experience and a strong commitment to social responsibility, and is thereby underlining Aachen’s importance as a location for international equestrian sport. Dr. Klaus-Peter Röhler, Member of the Board of Management of Allianz SE, emphasised: “The Allianz Park is a forward-looking symbol for equestrian sport and society. Our partnership with the CHIO Aachen and the CHIO Aachen CAMPUS represents our shared commitment to equality, the promotion of young talent and inclusion. Allianz does not just lend its name to the projects it sponsors. We support sports and promote values like team spirit and respect. We particularly assert ourselves for children and young people and are committed to the para-equestrian sport, to breaking down barriers and strengthening the sense of belonging and community. Together with the CHIO Aachen and the CHIO Aachen CAMPUS, we are investing in the future of equestrian sport.”
Michael Mronz, General Manager of Aachener Reitturnier GmbH, also accentuated: “Allianz’s commitment sends a strong signal for a sustainable location and plays a crucial role in further strengthening the international position of the CHIO Aachen CAMPUS and the CHIO Aachen. With a partner of global significance at our side, we can actively shape the future of equestrian sport in Aachen and further globalise it.”
Together, Allianz and the CHIO Aachen are sending out a signal for courage, passion and a clear vision: They are shaping the future of equestrian sport not only with a focus on top sporting performances, but also as pioneers for social change and sustainable development. “For us in Aachen, standing still is moving backwards. Further development is what drives us forward – for the horses, the sport and the people – for a sustainable and diversified future,” Stefanie Peters commented.
Allianz is also pleased to be helping shape this path as a strong partner: “We can sense it here: This is not about a construction project, but about values and visions,” emphasised Dr. Klaus-Peter Röhler.
