Episode 1

MARCUS AND NADIA EHNING: BALANCING FAMILY LIFE AND TOP-LEVEL SPORT

Marcus Ehning is not known for being particularly talkative, but in the first episode of the CHIO Aachen Podcast, the highly successful show jumper from Borken, Westphalia, speaks more openly than ever. Perhaps it’s because his wife Nadia is also present – she is the most successful individual vaulter in the world. Together, they reminisce about how they met, provide insights into their daily family life, and share highlights and setbacks from their sporting careers with the listeners.

Episode 2

INGRID KLIMKE AND GRETA BUSACKER: A UNIQUE MOTHER/DAUGHTER TEAM

Multi-talented – this is the word that best describes Ingrid Klimke and her daughter, Greta Busacker. In the second episode of the CHIO Aachen podcast, the two successful riders talk about their lives and take the listener into the very special atmosphere at “bush shows”, to an Olympic start on the first day of school and into their home – where rabbits, not horses, can be found in the garden. They also explain how they emerge stronger from every personal setback and why their tennis careers didn’t work out.

This episode was recorded amid a very special atmosphere, namely in the Main Stadium at the beginning of the show weekend at the CHIO Aachen 2024. At the time, Ingrid Klimke was still dreaming about competing in the dressage at the Olympic Games. It has since been announced that the meanwhile nominated reserve rider unfortunately can’t travel to Paris with the team, because her stallion, Franziskus FRH, is injured.

Episode 3

JESSICA VON BREDOW-WERNDL: THE FOUR-TIME OLYMPIC CHAMPION SPEAKS MORE OPEN THAN EVER

The stables in Aubenhausen are her oasis of calm, where Jessica von Bredow-Werndl can recharge her batteries. The four-time Olympic gold medallist has needed this repeatedly over the past few years, because after the greatest successes of her career, she has not – as is often assumed by outsiders – permanently been on cloud nine. In the third episode of the CHIO Aachen podcast, the 38-year-old talks remarkably openly about a lack of motivation after the Tokyo Olympics, the extreme pressure after unusual mistakes in Paris and her methods for emerging stronger from these situations.
