TURKISH AIRLINES PRIZE OF EUROPE GOES TO CANADA The Turkish Airlines Prize of Europe is traditionally the highlight of the jumping competitions on the Wednesday of the CHIO Aachen, the World Equestrian Festival. The victory went to Canada, to the Olympic gold medallist of 2008, Eric Lamaze. The number one in the world ranking list, the French rider, Simon Delestre, came second with Qlassic Bois Margot. Third place was claimed by Olivier Philippaerts from Belgium with Challenge v. Begijnakker Z, incidentally a horse that already carried his father, Ludo Philippaerts, through the ring at the Soers. |

![]() ![]() HUBERTUS SCHMIDT WINS THE HAVENS HORSEFEED PRIZE Today at the CHIO Aachen, the largest equestrian sports event in the world, the Grand Prix of the CDI4* tour kicked off with the HAVENS Horsefeed Prize. Unlike in the jumping stadium, the German competitors proved unbeatable in the Deutsche Bank Stadium. |

EXELL, HEADS THE FIELD IN THE PRIZE OF FA. HORSCH, DER ENTSORGER As usual, the CAIO of the four-in-hand drivers, the Prize of Fa. Horsch, Der Entsorger, kicked off today with the dressage in the Driving Stadium. As with the dressage riders, accuracy, elegance and obedience are demanded of the masters of the carriages. After the first of three disciplines – the Marathon, the cross-country course of the drivers, and obstacle driving follow – the Australian driver, Boyd Exell, who has, among many other titles, already won the CAIO Aachen five times in the past, heads the field. |

PRIZE OF THE VUV TO MICHAEL EILBERG The first dressage competition at the CHIO Aachen 2016, the World Equestrian Festival, was already like a battle of the giants. Whereas the so-called Small Tour doesn’t attract a lot of attention at other shows, in Aachen’s Deutsche Bank Stadium one can admire the stars of tomorrow in these competitions. Today’s Prize of the VUV – Vereinigte Unternehmerverbände Aachen was no exception here. World Champions competed against German National Champions today. |

CIAN O’CONNOR WINS THE PRIZE OF HANDWERK The Wednesday at the World Equestrian Festival, the CHIO Aachen, kicked off with a victory for the Irish show-jumper, Cian O’Connor (36) in the Prize of Handwerk, a jumping competition that is won by the rider, who jumps clear in the fastest time. |
