Werner Ulrich wins the Prize of Coca-Cola Erfrischungsgetränke AG
Swiss victory in the obstacle driving competition “Top Score Driving”
Werner Ulrich (Switzerland) won the Prize of Coca-Cola Erfrischungsgetränke AG at the CHIO Aachen 2010, World Equestrian Festival, today with a score of 1900 points and a time of 195.09 seconds. The two-time Driving World Champion, who has taken part in nine World Championships to-date, had harnessed his Lusitano team Tulipa, Unix II, Valeria II and Xaval. The 50-year-old driver, who won the FEI Top Driver Award in 2005 and who has claimed the Swiss National Championship title several times, lives in Bäriswil (CH).
Second place went to Christian Sandmann (Lähden). “A great result for our first competition this year,“ said the owner of a forwarding company overjoyed. Sandmann (43) had a knee operation earlier this year and only returned to his coachman’s box a few weeks ago. His result: 1870 points in a time of 195.33 seconds. Sweden ranked third with Tomas Eriksson, who scored 1860 points in a time of 190.33 seconds. The 48-year-old took the World Championship title in Wolfsburg in 2000 and he has competed at nine World Championships overall. The father of two has won the FEI Top Driver Award three times already.
