Julie de Deken repeats her success in the U 25 dressage
Belgian victory in the Prize of Liselott and Klaus Rheinberger Foundation
“I am delighted that I was able to repeat my victory here again. It is simply wonderful being able to ride in Aachen,“ said the overjoyed Belgian rider, Julie de Deken. She won the competition with her Florestan I/Rivellino xx son, Fazzino after achieving a score of 69.395 percent. The 24-year-old lives near Antwerp and trains with the former Dutch dressage rider, Tineke Bartels, whose daughter Imke Schellekens-Bartels is representing the Netherlands in the dressage team here in Aachen. De Deken discovered Fazzino as a six-year-old at the World Champions for Young Horses in Verden. Last year the 12-year-old competed successfully in the small tour and has now moved up to Grand Prix level, where he is equally successful.
The Norwegian rider Lillan Jebsen finished second with the Jet Set son, Pro-Set (67.674). Diederik van Silfhout (NED) ranked third with Luxform’s Popeye Platz (67.512). The best German rider came fifth: Kirsten Sieber with her Chagallo son, Charly WRT, who came second in the first competition on Wednesday.
The premiere was a success: For the first time ever a competition was organised for U25 dressage riders at the CHIO Aachen, the Prize of Liselott and Klaus Rheinberger Foundation. The new competition was an idea devised by Frank Kemperman, Show Director of the CHIO Aachen and Chairman of the organisers, the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein (ALRV), which is designed to make the step from the youngsters’ circuit up to Grand Prix level easier for the aspiring talents on an international basis.
