Triumph for Isabell Werth in the Lindt Prize
The five-time Olympic gold medallist wins the Grand Prix Spécial with Warum nicht
As in the Grand Prix on Wednesday, the situation was quite clear: Tonight Isabell Werth (Rheinberg) also won the floodlit Grand Prix Spécial, the Lindt Prize. She rode Warum nicht to victory with a score of 73.393 percent, ahead of Monica Theodorescu (Füchtorf) with Whisper and Sabine Becker with the 14-year-old Lamarc by Leggiero.
“I am very happy with my Hannes, he reacted brilliantly and performed a very good test. He turned a bit too far in the first pirouette, which is probably because we do a double pirouette in the freestyle. Hannes is a clever horse, which is why he thought another pirouette comes after the first one,” reported Isabell Werth. At the World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen 2010 she climbed into the saddle for the first time at a competition as a mother. Is that a different feeling? “No, not once I am sat on the horse. I am namely fully concentrated then. But Frederik really helps me calm down quicker in the breaks, if I have got worked up about something,” the star rider said with a laugh.
Gina Capellmann-Lütkemeier was rather unlucky. First of all she took a wrong course straight after the salute, then she was disqualified, because her mare was lame.
