CHIO Aachen 2010: Extensive broadcasting by ARD, ZDF and WDR – plenty of exciting Live programmes from the Soers

The CHIO Aachen (on till July 18th, 2010) has a fixed place in the TV programme again this year: In addition to news, interviews and reports, the TV viewers can look forward to over 20 hours of sport on ARD, WDR and ZDF. But the CHIO Aachen is not only being covered by German TV, scenes from the Soers will be transmitted in over 140 countries around the world.

ARD, WDR and ZDF are going to great lengths with their coverage of the CHIO Aachen. Around 250 employees will be travelling to the event at the Soers. They will be accompanied by four big broadcasting vehicles as well as by 47 cameras for the production of the TV images of the jumping, dressage, eventing, driving and vaulting. 17 cameras alone will be needed to capture the scenes from the eventing cross-country competition – which will be broadcast live on Saturday for the first time by ARD – and the marathon of the four-in-hand drivers. Besides the live sport, multifaceted background reports on the CHIO Aachen are planned again, and Lokalzeit Aachen (regional programme) will also be informing the viewers about what is happening at the Soers with lots of live spots and colourful reports.
