Nominations for the Silver Camera are announced
73 entries compete for the title of Best International Equestrian Sport Photo of the Year 2010

The art of photography is capturing that special moment. When coupled with a perfect technical execution the result is an exceptional photo. This year photographers from six countries submitted 73 entries to the “Silver Camera”competition for the best international equestrian sport photo.

The prize is jointly organised by the Sparkasse Aachen, the Rheinische Sparkasse & Giroverband and the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein e.V. The media prize is endowed with 4,000 Euros – 2,500 Euros for the winner, 1,000 Euros for second place and 500 Euros for third and fourth place respectively. The winner will be announced on Saturday evening, July 17th, during the jumping competitions in the main stadium. After animated discussions, the jury have nominated the three following photographers (in alphabetical order): Nicole Bökhaus (Switzerland), Anke Fleig (Germany) and Roger Svalsrød (Norway).

“Many of the entries were worthy of receiving an award,” commented Frank Kemperman, Chairman of the ALRV, who was also a member of the jury. The additional jury members comprised of Erich Timmermanns (Sparkasse Aachen), Andreas Müller (CEO, Zeitungsverlag Aachen), the photographer Uwe Anspach and the world-class Belgian eventer, Karin Donckers.
