in May
(Borken)
- The veteran among the German show-jumping horses, the 20-year-old
chestnut Hanoverian stallion, For Pleasure, will be the star
guest on the Sunday of the CHIO at the Aachen Soers. Known
as "Freddi" for short, the elegant chestnut horse
is still fit and frisky and will able to say "goodbye"
to top international sport at the famous show-ground on May
21st.
The outstanding stallion is going into retirement after having
delivered excellent sporting performances. For Pleasure by
Furioso II - Grannus won gold at two Olympic Games, in Atlanta
in 1996 and in Sydney in 2000, was a safe candidate for medals
at the World and European Championships as well as notching
up numerous victories and placements in Grand Prix competitions.
Having fully recovered from the injury he sustained at the
CSI Arezzo in 2005, the stallion is in excellent health. For
Pleasure will carry on his duties as a stud stallion.
Frank Kemperman, General Manager of the Aachen-Laurensberger
Rennverein e.V, the show's organiser, was also pleased that
the CHIO has been chosen to host the event: "We are of
course delighted that "Four Pleasure" will be saying
farewell at the official German tournament. He was always
one of the public's favourites."
