For the first time ever vaulting sport at
the CHIO Aachen Competitions as a test run for the World
Equestrian Games
The
entire German national team, including both the individual
and team members, have confirmed their attendance, since
this is a premiere that nobody wants to miss: This year
equestrian sport fans will be able to enjoy vaulting competitions
at the World Festival of Equestrian Sport, CHIO Aachen 2006
(May 17th-21st). This is designed as a test run for the
World Equestrian Games in seven equestrian sport disciplines
around three months later (August 20th - September 3rd).
The reigning world champions Kai Vorberg and Nicola Ströh,
the team world champions from Ingelsberg, the Aachen Riding
Club and five further teams from Rhineland will all be taking
part in the evening event in the Deutsche Bank Stadium on
Friday, May 19th, between 7 pm and approx. 11 pm, where
they will be demonstrating top gymnastic performances on
their horses. "This is going to be one of the highlights
of the CHIO 2006," comments Frank Kemperman, General
Manager of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein (ALRV).
The colourful show program - including the
most successful vaulter of all time, Nadia Zülow -
will be taking the audience on a nostalgic journey into
the past. In line with the motto of this year's CHIO "50
+ 1 years", the sportsmen and women will be showing
how vaulting has developed and changed over the past decades,
clad in historical suits and costumes of course. Tickets
costing 15 Euros are already available from the ALRV.
